About J. Batavia Company

J. Batavia Company was founded on 13 September 1978 by Jayantilal Batavia as a wholesale textiles business in Singapore. Built from the ground up, it grew under Jay’s leadership before being formally taken over by his son, Mahesh Batavia, now Managing Director.

Over the next four decades, Mahesh expanded JBC’s reach across Japan, Korea, and India—navigating supply chains long before global trade was seamless.

Today, the Batavia family carries that legacy forward, reimagining J. Batavia Company for modern life while staying grounded in the discipline and practicality that shaped it.

We believe sophistication isn’t about excess—it’s about how well something fits into everyday life. JBC is evolving into a lifestyle brand that demonstrates utility and refinement in each product by leveraging long-standing relationships across our supply network.
